Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four kids born August 9th, 1976 at Beaumont Puy de Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents who are a dentist and school teacher helped and encouraged her in her initial passion for theatre and drama. It was her initial desire of becoming a specialist in monkeys was replaced by her ambition to further study drama and theatre. Early success and a rapid rise in fame marked her as a young actor. In 1998, following the completion of her masters degree, she was asked to take part in Jeunes Premiers which is a French show on TV that is a talent scouting initiative, which is sponsored by Canal+. She also won the Best Young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. The experience led her to start her acting career professionally. Even though she went to The Institut Catholique de Paris and attended church in her youth Tautou has since distanced herself from her Catholic upbringing by stating that she is not officially Catholic. In addition to acting, she took up modeling and was the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Also, she has an intense passion for photography. She recently put on an exhibit of photographs at the Arles Festival with the name Superficial. Her photographs tends to focus on celebrities and fame. Cameras are focused towards journalists who are examining the actress after Amelie's sudden triumph. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and acclaim with her key part in the film Le Fabuleux by Amelie Poulain. Amelie earned international acclai commercial success, and received acclaim by awards galas across the world. It remains the highest grossing French language film in the US. In the wake of this enormous success, Tautou went on to appear in many films like British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday of fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
