Barbara Heck

BARBARA HICK (Baby) RUCKLE was born in 1734, Ballingrane. She is the daughter of Bastian Ruckle and Margaret Embury. Bastian Ruckle The daughter of Margaret Embury and Bastian Ruckle was born in Ballingrane in 1734. She was married to Paul Heck 1760 in Ireland. They had seven children of which 4 were born.

Usually, the subject of the biography is an active participant in important instances or has presented unique concepts or ideas that have been documented in written form. Barbara Heck however left no notes or letters, and there is no evidence to support such claims since the date of her marriage is merely secondary. No primary source exists that could be used to trace Barbara Heck's motives or activities in her entire life. She is still regarded as heroized in the tradition of Methodism. It was the Methodist historian Abel Stevens wrote in 1866. The growth of Methodism within the United States has now indisputably put the name of Barbara Heck first on the list of women in the history of the church in the New World. Her record is based more on the weight of the cause that she has been connected to than the personal circumstances. Barbara Heck, who was fortuitously involved in the founding of Methodism both in the United States and Canada was a woman famous for her trend that an established institution or movement would be able to celebrate their beginnings to reinforce its sense of continuity and history.
